Thomas M. Che Chen is Vice President of Marketing at Oscient Pharmaceuticals (a new company formed by the merger of Genome Therapeutics and Genesoft Pharmaceuticals), where he oversees the global commercialization of their lead compound, Factive (gemifloxacin). Previous to this, Mr. Chen was the Executive Director of Marketing at Cubist Pharmaceuticals, where he was the lead person in the premarketing and launch of the novel antibiotic, Cubicin (daptomycin). In addition, he was Sr. Product Manager, New Products Planning and Development at Wyeth (formerly Genetics Institute). In this position, Mr. Chen was involved in the strategic planning for development compounds in the areas of oncology, immune diseases, infectious diseases and bone regeneration. Mr Chen began his career at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, where he spent 11 years in various positions in sales, sales management and marketing. While in product management, he was responsible for the launch of Zoladex 3-month depot. Mr. Chen has been an invited panelist at FDA marketing committee meetings. Mr. Chen received his B.S. degree in Biology from Boston College.
