Dear all SAPA members and Friends,
We are calling for speakers as the part of SAPA delegation to China in June 2006. We will present in three symposiums: one in Shanghai (DDT China,
June 13-15, 2006 at the Riverfront Business Hotel at Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park), one in Nanjing (June 19-20), and one in Zhengzhou, Henan (June 21-22). Followings are the program descriptions. You are invited to send your application form (attached in this email) to georgexiao@gmail.com before Jan. 5th, 2006. The early application is highly appreciated.
If selected based on qualification and expertise's, the speakers' international travel will be mostly covered (up to 6000 RMB). Certainly, the accommodation cost during the meeting in Nanjing and Zhengzhou will be fully covered. However, the accommodation cost in Shanghai will not be covered.
The programs:
1) Scientific Advancement/Medical Research Development in China
This session focuses on the unmet medical needs in China, and how Chinese & International companies can collaborate effectively to speed up the processes of drug discovery & development. A good presentation in this area will be one that looks at the opportunities available in China or internationally, and how China can further make its contribution to expedite discovery efforts on the following areas:
*Chemical products
* Biological products
* Gene therapy
* Stem cells
* siRNA
* Diagnostics & Pharmacogenomics
* Oncology
* Infectious Diseases
* Cardiovascular
* CNS
* Diabetes / Obesity etc.
2) Case Studies of Successful Deal Structures & Partnering Strategies :
This session presents joint-presentations of 2 partnering companies who've successful collaborated in the form of licensing, outsourcing, offshoring or joint ventures... discussion should focus on selection criteria, procedure, challenges, pitfalls, expectations, milestones etc., telling the success story from both sides of a coin.
3) Panel Discussions:
* PreClinical Development in China - from primate research to ADMET assays
* Conducting a Multi-Center Clinical Trial
* Raising Capital - Valuation and Investment Interests in China
* Finding and Attracting International Partners
4) Showcase of Chinese Companies & Academia
The Showcase will highlight new technologies that can advance drug discovery and development and identify partnering opportunities between biotech and large pharmaceutical companies working in China.
CEOs and presidents from biotech companies looking for partners will present key opportunities to pharmaceutical companies looking for strategic opportunities, such as:
