Dear SAPA members,

The 2nd International Conference and Exposition on the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine will be held at Chengdu on Sept. 25-27, 2005. SAPA will organize a 10 people delegation for this meeting, led by SAPA-NE president-elect, Huimin Chen. The host will provide travel subsidiary and lodging within Chengdu during the meeting to the invited speakers. The application form for the meeting is attached. The meeting organizers will let SAPA host a special section based on following themes:
1.Traditional Chinese Medicine research in the USA
2.Globalization of TCM
3.TCM regulations in the USA
4.Collaborating research between China and USA
5.Modern technology in TCM research

If interested, please send your application to Dr. Erxi Wu at ewu2008@yahoo.com, no later than Aug. 18, 2005. The applications will be pre-screened by the SAPA Review Committee that is consisted of representatives from SAPA-NE, HQ and other chapters. The criteria for pre-screening will include, but not limited to,

(1)The candidate must be an active member of SAPA,
(2)His/her presentation must fit into the theme/topic of meeting,
(3)He/she must be an expert in the area, which he/she is presenting (demonstrated by his/her education, publication, working experiences, etc.),
(4)Competition among the candidates in the similar topic.

Total 12 applications of selected candidates will be submitted to the Organization Committee of Chengdu meeting on August 20 for further evaluation. And they will choose 10 speakers from our 12 candidates.
