Abstract: Like many of us, I came to the States in 1985 as a student for my Ph.D. study in chemistry. After the Post Doctoral training I started my first job at Hauser Inc. as a Senior Chemist in 1993. My research was focused on anticancer drug development from natural products. I have worked on Taxol and Artemisia for anticancer agents with 15 patents and several publications in two years. However, I have to make a decision then if I want to continue my technical advancement. In 1996 I move to Pure World Botanicals Inc. that research and develop natural products with health and nutritional benefits. Today I am an Executive Vice President and Director of Science and Technology at Pure World. I am also a Board Director for two other public companies. I have changed my career from doing science to management.

My experience and career development may be different than many of the scientists here. It may bring a different view and discussion from most of technical and science advancement. I can not teach any skills or methodology in career development. The only thing I can offer is try hard to know who you are, what do you want and try hard to be who you are and get what do you want.
