Dr. Qun-Yi Zheng received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from China’s Hunan University and a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Zheng was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Cornell University from 1991 to 1993.

Currently, Dr. Zheng is the Executive Vice President and Director of Science and Technology of Pure World Botanicals, a research driven and scientific based manufacturer of botanical extracts. Prior to joining Pure World Botanicals, he served as Senior Chemist for Hauser Chemical Research, Inc., and Technical Manager for Hauser Nutraceuticals.

Dr. Zheng is a leading expert in standardization of botanical extracts. He played a key role in the design and construction of several chemical plants in China.

Dr. Zheng’s extensive resume includes many scientific papers and publications, and thirteen pending or current patents, many of which are related to his work in enumerating, isolating and characterizing various anti-cancer constituents from natural products such as taxol, and artemisinin.
