2025 SAPA Science and Careers Symposium

About
The Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) invites you to attend the annual Science & Careers Symposium, to be held on April 12th, 2025 at Rutgers University. The full agenda and speaker lineup have now been released. The symposium will bring together leading experts from industry and academia, along with accomplished entrepreneurs, to explore cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, data science, and emerging technologies in drug development and the future of biopharma. Career development and industry trends will also be key areas of focus, supporting both scientific progress and professional growth.
Event Highlights
In addition to keynote talks and expert panels, the symposium will feature several interactive opportunities, including a Job Fair, 1:1 networking, and AI Workshop, and guidance on how to launch a startup and secure funding.

📌 The on-site Job Fair will feature senior HR professionals from leading biopharma companies (sponsored by HR on Duty), offering real-time resume feedback, personalized career consultations, and smart job search strategies. It’s a rare opportunity to connect directly with recruiters, gain insights into industry hiring practices, and explore potential roles—no fluff, just actionable guidance. Walk in with questions, walk out with confidence.
👉 Companies interested in hosting a booth at the Job Fair are welcome to participate — please reach out to fundraising@sapaweb.org for more details.
📌 The AI Workshop is a hands-on coding session showcasing the latest agentic AI frameworks and real-world applications—featuring large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multi-agent systems. The afternoon will feature parallel breakout sessions covering a diverse range of trending topics, including Novel Drug Discovery Science, Career Development, Frontiers in Diabetes & Obesity Research (co-organized by Chinese American Diabetes Association), and more.
📌 The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Forum, co-hosted by the UPenn Global Technology Roundtable Alliance (GTRA), will feature Dr. Junyuan Wang, CEO of AnHeart Therapeutics, sharing his journey of founding and scaling a biotech startup—from fundraising and team building to clinical development, M&A, and navigating critical turning points. Also speaking is Yulai Weng, founder of AI robotics company Bestmow, who will discuss how students can turn an idea into action, engage with VCs, and build a full pipeline from tech to market. This engaging, content-rich session is designed to inspire and empower aspiring entrepreneurs!
