SAPA 2024 CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP AND CAREER FAIR
The 2024 SAPA Career Development Workshop and Career Fair was held on March 2nd at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. The workshop invited 13 speakers from the biopharma industry and hosted over 200 attendees. The speakers shared their insights and tips for improving soft skills in the workplace. Four parallel panel discussions provided the audience with a variety of learning opportunities and practical skills. In addition, several sponsors also participated in the on-site career fair.
SAPA 2024 INVESTMENT FORUM @JPM WEEK
On January 7th, 2024, The Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) successfully hosted its Investment Forum during the 42nd JP Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco, California. SAPA invited a group of executives, experienced investors, business consultants, and legal professionals to present and discuss perspectives on recent market dynamics in investment and business development. This event was joined by twelve speakers participating in two panel discussions and attracted around 200 attendees.
SAPA 2024 NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
The Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) celebrated the Lunar New Year of the Dragon on February 16, 2024 (Friday). This event, marking SAPA's 31year of service to the community, brought together volunteers, sponsors, members, and friends to honor their contributions over the past year. Attendees enjoyed cultural performances, celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Dragon, and highlighted SAPA's ongoing commitment to bringing diversity and inclusion to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
SAPA 2023 Annual Conference and 30th Anniversary Celebration
From September 29th to 30th, 2023, the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) held its 2023 Annual Conference and 30th Anniversary Celebration at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The theme of this year’s conference was “Towards a Shared Vision: Advancing the Pharmaceuticals through Collaboration and Innovation,” drawing over 600 professionals from the industry and academia and nearly 40 sponsors globally, with more than 70 distinguished speakers and panelists. In this pleasant season, attendees explored the development trends of the pharmaceutical industry on a global scale.
SAPA 2023 Healthcare Investment Forum and Roadshow
The 2023 Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) Healthcare Investment Forum & Roadshow took place on July 8th at Columbia University in New York City. The event promoted entrepreneurship, healthcare investment, and business cooperation with trusted partners. An impressive panel of industry-leading speakers delivered keynote speeches and participated in fireside chats. This event also offered a unique workshop for entrepreneurship and other opportunities to keep vibrant interactions between participants and speakers/panelists. Attendees learned about the latest trends in investment and drug development as they networked with leading investors and fellow life science professionals
SAPA 2023 Scientific Symposium
On May 6th, 2023, Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) held the annual Scientific Symposium, themed “The Power of AI, Data Science and Cutting-Edge Technologies in Pharmaceutical Industry” at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. This event was attended by almost 300 experts and scholars from industry, academia, and regulatory agencies. The attendees had a lively discussion of the recent development of artificial intelligence (“AI”), data science, cutting-edge technologies, and their impact on the innovation in the biopharma industry.
The event chairs, Dr. Wei Ding (Head of Bioinformatics and Data Science at Alexion AstraZeneca) and Dr. Xiaojiao Xue (Principal Scientist in Clinical Pharmacology and DMPK at PTC Therapeutics), delivered the opening remarks. Dr. Wei Ding started the event by introducing the current hot topics in the field. Dr. Xue introduced the program agenda and expressed great appreciation for the event’s organizing committee and all volunteers.
SAPA 2023 Career Development Workshop
On March 25, 2023, the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) 2023 Career Development Workshop (CDW) was held at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Piscataway, New Jersey. Workshop hosts Dr. David Cragin and Dr. Yong Guo welcomed attendees by introducing the theme: “Career Growth in Turbulent Times – Use Empathy and Leadership to Guide Your Career Development.” 16 speakers with various levels of experience shared their career advice and journeys. Attendees could also talk with eight sponsoring companies, who conducted on-site recruitment, and participate in a resume/LinkedIn profile workshop. In total, nearly 200 attendees attended the one-day event.
