2026 SAPA Summer Picnic

On August 16, the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) hosted its 2026 Annual Summer Picnic at Johnson Park in Piscataway, New Jersey. The event brought together 193 SAPA members, families, friends, and volunteers for a joyful summer gathering filled with connection, community, and fun.

 

  • Opening Remarks


The 2026 SAPA Summer Picnic began with a warm welcome to all attendees. SAPA President Dr. Wei Ding (Senior Director, AstraZeneca), expressed his sincere appreciation to the volunteers and organizers whose time and effort helped make the event possible. In his opening remarks, Dr. Ding encouraged everyone to relax, enjoy the day, and make the most of the opportunity to connect with fellow SAPA members, family, and friends. He also invited the SAPA community to join the upcoming SAPA Annual Conference in September and continue participating in SAPA's programs and activities throughout the year. The event organizing lead Zhou Yu also welcomed all participants and introduced the picnic agenda.


  • Lively Conversations and Delicious Food


Throughout the afternoon, the picnic was filled with lively conversations and laughter. Attendees gathered around picnic tables, catching up with old friends, meeting new members, and sharing stories about their lives and work. Everyone also enjoyed a delicious selection of food while taking in the beautiful summer surroundings of Johnson Park. The relaxed atmosphere provided a perfect opportunity for members and their families to unwind and spend quality time together outside of their professional lives.

  • Fun and Games

The afternoon continued with a variety of fun games and activities organized by Xiaowei Sun, PhD (Senior Scientist, Bristol Myers Squibb) that brought energy and excitement to the gathering. Attendees enthusiastically participated in the games, cheered each other on, and enjoyed plenty of laughter along the way. The combination of good food, lively conversations, and fun activities made the picnic a memorable occasion for the entire SAPA community.
